The ocean is at the foot of my street.  Its beauty is undeniable and unforgettable.  Everyone goes to the water when they want to have fun or when they want to escape.  It’s easy to think of it as a solace that is always available and never tainted. But this is far from the truth.  The ocean—as with other components of the natural world—is something we humans easily take for granted and overestimate in its durability and resiliency.  The sea and its occupants are now subject to unprecedented levels and forms of pollution that are taking their toll.

Adrift addresses the idea that we have become unmoored from the concept that the good health of the watery 75% of this planet is our responsibility.
