Long Road Projects LLC is a community-based arts and culture non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Co-Founders and community activists Aaron Levi Garvey and Stevie Covart Garvey founded in 2016 as a way to establish a positive, creative and transformative presence in the city of Jacksonville. LRC aims to serve as an integral platform for artistic experimentation, community engagement and education.

The mission of Long Road Projects is to be the catalyst for progress in the community through the celebration of art and culture. LCR believes that individual artists deserve dedicated advocacy, support in the execution of experimental works, publishing resources and professional development counseling to ensure their interests are protected. LRC seeks to become a financially stable arts organization that can bring a dynamic and educational exhibition program to the city of Jacksonville. Additionally, it will strive to become a pillar of the local and national arts community. In doing so, LRC will shift the view of traditional arts organizations and exhibition practice to a more conceptual and sustainable social environment. Central to the vision of LRC is the social role of art as seen in education, project commissions and community service. With a commitment to greater Jacksonville, as well as the national and international art communities, LRC will highlight the importance of art within social engagement.

MISSION

Long Road Projects is a 501(c)3 non-profit exhibition and artist residency program dedicated to providing a platform for contemporary artists from diverse backgrounds, for mounting exhibitions or site-specific installations, community engagements and publishing editions in a welcoming and encouraging environment. LRP seeks to build a community atmosphere through its educational and analytical exhibition programs for the public.
